Had a short walk today because my Mooma was sick, her husband is currently out somewhere being a jerk, and my husband was late home from work (hey, that rhymed!) Anyway, I had a late start and since the sun is setting about ten to eight now, I only walked about half-way through Birdland before heading up Second to home.

I saw a few people wearing sweaters and it’s 70 (or was) about an hours before sunset.

It was in the high 60’s this afternoon – wore a light sweater and ended up regretting it later on when the sun finally came out and I started to get a bit on the warm side. Saw a bunch of bumble bees, a white heron and a boatload of grasshoppers.

Did the Birdland route and listened to old time radio broadcasts on my phone, relaxing stuff. If I had to choose between radio and TV I’d have to go with the radio – it’s all in your mind and isn’t confined by someone else’s vision of what is or what could be.

Kind of warm and sweaty, a few Monarch butterflies lumbering around by the river and the scissor-cut cicadas were singing their hearts out.

Walked down by the river, again, but this time I had an Opposite Day and walked south and west instead of south and north, whoopee. The homeless dude underneath the 2nd Avenue bridge was in his usual spot – I caught a glimpse of him and his large red water jug out of the corner of my right eye. Walked around Merle Hay Mall for a bit, had some lunch (Taco Johns -- take that, arteries!!!), and then headed East on Douglas to home. Davey caught up with me down by Taco Casa and I had a lift to Wal-Green’s for my new and shiny high blood pressure meds, Amilodipine Besylate…. hurray for fried foods!

Lots of boomer clouds, cool and a bit humid.

Didn’t walk yesterday – boomers were waltzing through Iowa and I didn’t want to get caught out in the open if/when one hit.

Anyway, I walked the usual way and saw the usual things – though the homeless dude living underneath the 2nd Avenue bridge wasn’t at his usual spot… guess he either moved on or was picked up by the cops for vagrancy.

It felt like an early Fall day – cool, in the low 70s. Lots of puffy clouds.

Jack and I walked down to NHS, but since it was getting dark decided not to walk down by the river but made a shortcut to Cornell instead. Hiked up Cornell (such a wussy hill now, but last year when I first started walking it kicked my ass in many different ways!), and on to Aurora to 4th and home in time for two bowls of Papa’s spaghetti.

Warm and sweaty – had sweat dripping into my eyes and Jack panted and drank lots of water.

I’m posting this into the past so it shows up on the 14nth but when I weighed myself this AM (August 15) I now weigh 186 pounds… that’s the lightest I’ve been since I got married. Roar!
